What are Clinical Nutrition Appointments?
There are two types of Clinical Nutrition Appointments: (1) Standard Clinical Nutrition Appointments are for people wanting individualized clinical nutrition care beyond package options, and (2) Complex Clinical Nutrition Appointments are for individuals requiring specialized services for medical nutrition therapy for specific diagnoses. Both types of Clinical Nutrition Appointments are available following an Initial Consultation to determine needs and appropriate services.
Who Are These Services For?
Standard Cinical Nutrition Appointments are for existing clients wanting routine clinical nutrition services outside of established packages.
Complex Clinical Nutrition Appointments are for individuals requiring specialized services for:
- Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and/or Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), to support symptom management and nutritional adequacy. See Dietary Services for MCAS, hEDS & POTS.
- A 3:1 therapeutic ketogenic diet as adjunct nutrition therapy in specific diagnoses, with medical oversight
How to Get Started?
The first step is to book an Initial Consultation to discuss your needs, symptoms, and diagnoses (confirmed and suspected/pending). Your intake information will be reviewed to determine whether your needs fall within my scope of practice and whether I am the appropriate provider to support your care. Where needed, I may recommend alternative or additional clinical support.
How Much Do These Services Cost?
Clinical Nutrition Appointments will be provided on a per-appointment basis.
Standard Clinical Nutrition Appointment: $150 (GST exempt), billed at standard clinical rate for individualized nutrition care outside of available package options. Appointments are 50 minutes, with 10 minutes for reviewing clinical data, requesting additional lab tests (if needed), and planning next steps.
Complex Clinical Nutrition Appointment: $170 (GST exempt), for complex cases such as 3:1 therapeutic ketogenic diets for physical or mental health, and dietary support for MCAS, hEDS & POTS. Appointments are 50 minutes, with 10 minutes for reviewing clinical data, requesting additional lab tests (if needed), and planning next steps.

Questions and Answers
Q: Are Clinical Nutrition Appointments the same as an Initial Consultation?
A: No. The Initial Consultation is a non-clinical appointment to discuss your goals, symptoms, diagnoses, and service options. Clinical Nutrition Appointments involve individualized clinical nutrition assessment and care after your needs have been reviewed.
Q: Why is an Initial Consultation required for hEDS, MCAS, and POTS services?
A: Approximately 60% of individuals with these conditions are diagnosed with more than one of them. Because the symptoms of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) are different for each individual, there is no set package. An Initial Consultation enables us to meet to discuss your specific symptoms and prioritize your digestive or systemic triggers.
Q: What is the dietary strategy for managing overlapping hEDS, MCAS, and POTS symptoms?
A: Managing the complex “trifecta” of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome requires an individualized approach. Rather than relying on overly restrictive meal elimination sheets, which can compromise nutritional adequacy, I use a step-by-step approach to build a diet that targets connective tissue health, stabilizes mast cell triggers, and optimizes blood volume and electrolyte levels.
