Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) Package (formerly the PCOS Package)

PCOS nutritional supportOn May 12, 2026, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome was officially renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) to highlight the metabolic nature of the disorder. The PMOS Package helps women address the underlying insulin resistance and high levels of circulating insulin that are core features of the disorder.

By targeting metabolic health, this service focuses on reducing symptoms, supporting weight management, and improving the likelihood of conception for those planning a pregnancy.

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) Package Structure

This package provides four services:

1. In-depth Clinical Assessment:

The first service in the package is an in-depth clinical assessment, which is broken into two parts:

a. The first part of the assessment includes a review of personal and family medical history, recent lab results, current medications and nutritional supplements, as well as your waist and hip measurements (10 minutes).

b. The second part of the assessment is a comprehensive dietary and lifestyle review, where I will collect detailed information, including what you like to eat and when, food likes and dislikes, religious, cultural, or ethical dietary restrictions, and other factors that impact your health and weight, such as sleep habits and activity level (50 minutes).

2. Design of Individual Meal Plan: The second service in the package is the design of your individual Meal Plan, tailored to help you accomplish the goals that you set. Your Meal Plan will take into consideration the information collected during the assessment, medications you may be taking, risk factors you may have, lab test results, food preferences, and food restrictions, if any.

Your Meal Plan will serve as the nutrition and lifestyle roadmap to bridge the gap between your health goals and an achievable and sustainable lifestyle. It will also take any guesswork out of what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat, while providing plenty of variety and choice.

A detailed, multi-page Meal Plan Summary handout will be prepared to accompany your Meal Plan, summarizing the content of what you will be taught during the upcoming Nutritional Education Session. This Summary will also serve as a reference for you as you implement your Meal Plan.

The turnaround time for completing your Meal Plan will be approximately 2 weeks from the time I receive any requested or missing information, such as any nutrition labels or pending lab test results.

3. Nutrition Education Session: The third service in the package is the Nutrition Education Session, which begins with you receiving your Meal Plan, as well as the detailed, multi-page Meal Plan Summary handout.

The visit will begin with a review of any existing risk factors, including weight, waist circumference, or out-of-range lab test results. It will be followed by step-by-step teaching of your Meal Plan, including food categories, serving sizes, number of portions, and how to make substitutions within each food category at each meal.

You will also be provided with specific dietary and lifestyle recommendations to help you achieve the goals that you set. Unless time doesn’t permit, the session will conclude with an opportunity to ask questions to clarify what you were taught.

4. Follow-up Visits: The fourth service in the package is follow-up, which can be taken as either of these two options:

  1. Two half-hour follow-up appointments: each visit is for reviewing weight and waist circumference and answering questions about implementing the Meal Plan.
  2. A combined one-hour follow-up appointment: the first half hour is for reviewing progress, and the second half hour is used to adjust your Meal Plan based on requested changes or revised measurements.

Google Review from Gloria V. May 20, 2026

After years of not knowing what was wrong with me, I was diagnosed with PCOS two years ago. I tried seeking help from doctors, but I never got a definitive answer—just “take the pill” or “get the shot.”

I was gaining weight uncontrollably and felt very unhappy with myself because, despite thinking I was eating clean and exercising enough, I kept putting on weight.

I found Joy through a Google search and, boy oh boy, what a surprise! Once I received my personalized meal plan, she took the time to explain how it worked and how I should follow it. There were no crazy foods or expensive supplements—it was tailored to my daily eating habits, and I only needed to make a few adjustments.

She explained how my body works and what needed to be done to “adjust” it so it could function properly again. The first couple of weeks were a little hard because I felt a bit peckish between meals. During our follow-up appointment, I told her I was feeling hungry between meals and asked what I could do to fix that.

It turned out that I wasn’t eating my full meals—totally my fault! I hadn’t read the meal plan carefully enough, and I was missing an important part of my meals: healthy fats (the ones that keep you full longer).

It was very eye-opening when she explained everything to me, and I realized that I had grown up being afraid of eating fats because they were considered the foods that make you “fat.” My brain probably just avoided them by default!

After learning about the importance of hormonal balance and the types of foods my body needs, I felt much more reassured and confident in my journey.

I can’t thank Joy enough for sharing her knowledge with me and helping me feel better about myself and my overall well-being. I am down 12 lbs and 5 inches off my waist—and still going! I couldn’t be happier.

Questions and Answers

Q: How does this package address both PMOS (PCOS) symptoms and insulin resistance?

A: This package focuses on the underlying insulin resistance of PMOS by designing a Meal Plan tailored to your needs to manage blood sugar, which in turn helps reduce weight and manage hormone levels.

Q: My partner and I would like to plan to have children. Will the PMOS Package help regulate my cycles?

A: Since failure to ovulate (release an egg) is one of the symptoms of PMOS (PCOS), eating in a way that minimizes insulin resistance will help.

Q: I was diagnosed previously with PCOS (now called PMOS), and just found out that I now have type 2 diabetes. Will the PMOS (PCOS) Package help me address both?

A: Yes! Since insulin resistance and high levels of circulating insulin (insulinemia) are addressed in this package and are also contributors to type 2 diabetes, the Meal Plan can address both.
